Barbie in A Mermaid Tale is a 2010 direct–to–video computer–animated film directed by Adam Wood. It is the 19th entry in the Barbie film series, and stars the voice of Kelly Sheridan as Merliah, a surfing champion from Malibu, who discovers she is the heir of the underwater kingdom of Oceana. The film follows Merliah as she sets out on a mission to save her mother, the queen of Oceana, and prevent the destruction of the mermaids‘ home. Along the way, Merliah is joined by her animal friends Zuma, a pink dolphin, and Cutie, a baby sea turtle, as she faces off against her evil aunt Calissa, who is determined to take over the throne. The film also features the voices of Kathleen Barr, Chantal Strand, Tabitha St. Germain and Mark Hildreth.
