Centurion is a 2010 British historical action–adventure film written and directed by Neil Marshall. Set in 117 AD, the film follows a group of Roman soldiers and their quest to locate and rescue the Roman General Quintus Dias, who was taken captive by a group of Picts in the north of Britain. The film stars Michael Fassbender, Dominic West, Olga Kurylenko, and David Morrissey.
The film received generally positive reviews from critics, who praised its action sequences and its historically accurate depiction of Roman Britain. Some critics also felt that the film failed to explore deeper themes and characters, resulting in a shallow plot. Nevertheless, the film was nominated for several awards, including the Saturn Award for Best Action/Adventure/Thriller Film.
