“Dune” is a 2021 epic science-fiction film directed by Denis Villeneuve and based on the 1965 novel of the same name by Frank Herbert. The film stars an ensemble cast including Timothée Chalamet, Rebecca Ferguson, Oscar Isaac, Josh Brolin, Stellan Skarsgård, and Zendaya.
The film is set in a distant future where humanity has spread out across the galaxy and follows the story of Paul Atreides (Chalamet), the heir to a noble family who moves to the planet Arrakis to oversee the production of a valuable resource called “spice.” As Paul becomes embroiled in a conflict between noble houses and the indigenous people of Arrakis, he discovers his own destiny as a messiah figure.

The film was also a commercial success, grossing over $400 million worldwide on a budget of $165 million. A sequel to the film, “Dune: Part Two,” has been announced and is set to be released in 2023.
