“Godzilla” is a 2014 American monster film directed by Gareth Edwards and written by Max Borenstein. It is the second American-made Godzilla film and a reboot of the Godzilla franchise. The film stars Bryan Cranston, Ken Watanabe, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Elizabeth Olsen, and Juliette Binoche.
The film follows the story of a giant, ancient monster named Godzilla who is awakened from his slumber by the nuclear testing of humans. As he wreaks havoc across the globe, a team of scientists and military personnel must work together to stop him before he destroys everything in his path.
The film received generally positive reviews from critics and was a box office success, grossing over $529 million worldwide. It also spawned a sequel, “Godzilla: King of the Monsters,” in 2019, and a crossover film, “Godzilla vs. Kong,” in 2021.
