Green Zone is a 2010 British–American war thriller film directed by Paul Greengrass and starring Matt Damon, Greg Kinnear, and Brendan Gleeson. The film is set during the 2003 invasion of Iraq and follows a U.S. Army officer (Damon) who is assigned to find weapons of mass destruction in Baghdad. During his search, he discovers a web of deceit and corruption that leads to a high–level conspiracy. The film received mixed reviews from critics, but was generally praised for its action sequences and political commentary.
