Hesher is a 2010 American drama film written and directed by Spencer Susser and starring Joseph Gordon–Levitt, Devin Brochu, Rainn Wilson, Piper Laurie, and Natalie Portman. The film follows a young boy who is dealing with the loss of his mother and the arrival of a strange and reckless loner who moves into his home. The film premiered at the 2010 Sundance Film Festival and was released in the United States on May 13, 2011.
Hesher was met with generally positive reviews from critics, who praised Joseph Gordon–Levitt‘s performance and the film‘s dark comedy. The film grossed $1.4 million at the box office.
