“Home Team” is an upcoming American sports comedy film directed by Peter Segal and produced by Adam Sandler’s production company, Happy Madison Productions. The film is based on the true story of former NFL player Sean Payton and his experience coaching his son’s youth football team during his suspension from the league in 2012.
The film stars Kevin James as Sean Payton, and also features a cast that includes Taylor Lautner, Rob Schneider, and Jackie Sandler. The story follows Payton as he takes on the role of head coach for his son’s football team, the Warriors, in his hometown of Naperville, Illinois. As Payton tries to lead the team to victory, he must also navigate the challenges of coaching young players and repairing his strained relationship with his family.
“Home Team” is set to be released on Netflix in 2022 and is expected to offer a mix of sports comedy and family drama. The film reunites James with Segal, who previously worked together on the films “The Longest Yard” and “Grown Ups.”
