Horton Hears a Who! is a 2008 American computer–animated adventure comedy film based on the Dr. Seuss book of the same name. It was produced by Blue Sky Studios and distributed by 20th Century Fox. It was directed by Jimmy Hayward and Steve Martino and stars the voices of Jim Carrey, Steve Carell, Carol Burnett, Will Arnett, Seth Rogen and Amy Poehler. The film tells the story of Horton the Elephant, who discovers a microscopic community on a speck of dust and must protect them from the dangers of the jungle. The film was released on March 14, 2008 and grossed over $297 million worldwide on a budget of $85 million. It received generally positive reviews from critics, who praised its faithfulness to the source material, visuals, voice acting and humor.
