“Lockout” is a 2012 French science fiction action film directed by James Mather and Stephen St. Leger and starring Guy Pearce and Maggie Grace.
The film is set in the near future and follows the story of Snow (Guy Pearce), a former government agent who is wrongly accused of a crime and sent to a maximum security prison in space known as MS One. Meanwhile, the president’s daughter, Emilie Warnock (Maggie Grace), visits MS One on a humanitarian mission and is taken hostage by the inmates who have taken over the prison.
In exchange for his freedom, Snow is offered a chance to rescue Emilie and stop a deadly virus from spreading across Earth. Snow agrees and is sent to MS One with limited time and resources to complete his mission.
“Lockout” received mixed reviews from critics, with praise given to Pearce’s performance and the film’s thrilling action sequences. However, some critics found the plot to be derivative and the film to be lacking in originality.
