Meek‘s Cutoff is a 2010 American western film directed by Kelly Reichardt and starring Michelle Williams, Bruce Greenwood, Paul Dano, Will Patton, and Shirley Henderson. The film follows a group of settlers in 1845 who, after getting lost, hire a guide to lead them through the Oregon desert. As the journey progresses, the travelers begin to question their guide‘s ability to lead them, and they face the harsh realities of the unforgiving landscape.
The film was met with critical acclaim, and was praised for its realism and its unique take on the classic western genre. Meek‘s Cutoff was also nominated for several awards and received the award for Best Film at the 27th Tokyo International Film Festival.
