Mortal Kombat: Rebirth is a 2010 action–thriller short film directed by Kevin Tancharoen and written by Tancharoen and Oren Uziel. The film was released on YouTube and other video sharing websites. It serves as a reboot to the Mortal Kombat franchise and a re–imagining of its storylines. The film follows a team of interdimensional warriors led by the series‘ protagonist, Raiden, as they battle against the forces of Outworld. The film stars Jeri Ryan, Michael Jai White, Ian Anthony Dale, and Matt Mullins. It was met with positive reception from fans and critics alike.
