Muppets Most Wanted (2014)

“Muppets Most Wanted” is a 2014 American musical comedy film and the eighth theatrical film featuring the Muppets. Directed by James Bobin and written by Bobin and Nicholas Stoller, the film is a direct sequel to 2011’s The Muppets and stars Ricky Gervais, Ty Burrell, and Tina Fey, as well as Muppet performers Steve Whitmire, Eric Jacobson, Dave Goelz, Bill Barretta, and Peter Linz.

In the film, the Muppets find themselves unwittingly involved in an international crime caper while on tour in Europe. They are led by a scheming manager named Dominic Badguy (Ricky Gervais), who is actually the sidekick of Constantine—the World’s Most Dangerous Frog—who closely resembles Kermit. Kermit is mistaken for Constantine and gets thrown into jail, while Constantine takes over Kermit’s identity to carry out a series of high-profile heists.

“Muppets Most Wanted” features a variety of celebrity cameos and musical performances, a hallmark of Muppet films. The movie received generally positive reviews from critics, who praised its humor, wit, and cleverness, as well as its faithfulness to the spirit of the Muppets. However, it didn’t perform as well at the box office compared to the 2011 Muppet film.
