Nanny McPhee and the Big Bang is a 2010 fantasy comedy–drama film directed by Susanna White and written by Emma Thompson, based on Christianna Brand‘s Nurse Matilda books. The film stars Thompson, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Rhys Ifans, Maggie Smith and Ralph Fiennes. The plot follows Nanny McPhee (Thompson), a mysterious nanny who uses her magic to help a struggling family and teach them important life lessons.
