No Country for Old Men is a 2007 thriller–drama film directed and written by Joel and Ethan Coen, based on Cormac McCarthy‘s novel of the same name. The film stars Tommy Lee Jones, Javier Bardem, and Josh Brolin and follows an unsuspecting Texas welder and Vietnam veteran who stumbles upon a drug deal gone wrong and a bag of cash. He is then pursued by a psychopathic hitman, who is determined to retrieve the money. The film won four Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Adapted Screenplay, and Best Supporting Actor (Bardem). It also received numerous other awards and nominations.
