Paranormal Activity 4 (2012)

“Paranormal Activity 4” is a 2012 found-footage horror film directed by Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman. It is the fourth installment in the “Paranormal Activity” franchise and follows a new family, the Nelsons, who start to experience strange and paranormal occurrences after a mysterious woman and a young boy move in next door.

The film primarily centers around the character of Alex (Kathryn Newton), a teenager who begins to record the strange occurrences happening in her house with her boyfriend Ben’s (Matt Shively) help. As the activity increases, the Nelson family starts to fear for their safety and seek out the help of a paranormal expert named Martine (Sara Mornell).

“Paranormal Activity 4” received mixed reviews from critics, with some praising the use of suspense and jump scares, while others criticized the lack of originality and repetition of the franchise’s formula. Despite the mixed reviews, the film was a commercial success, grossing over $142 million worldwide against a budget of $5 million.
