Peacock is a 2010 American drama film directed by Michael Lander and starring Cillian Murphy, Ellen Page, and Susan Sarandon. It is based on the short story “The Egg“ by Russell Smith. The film follows a man in a small Nebraska town who pretends to be a woman in order to gain acceptance in the community. The film premiered at the Sundance Film Festival on January 21, 2010, and was released in the United States on July 16, 2010.
