“Safe” is an action thriller film released in 2012. The movie was directed by Boaz Yakin and starred Jason Statham, Catherine Chan, and Chris Sarandon.
The film follows Luke Wright (Statham), a former elite agent who has fallen from grace and is now a homeless man in New York City. However, when he encounters a young girl named Mei (Chan), who has been abducted by the Chinese Triads, he decides to protect her and fight back against the gangsters who are after her.
As Luke and Mei try to evade the Triads, they discover that Mei possesses a valuable code that the gangsters are desperate to retrieve. With the help of a sympathetic cop (played by Robert John Burke), Luke and Mei race against time to decode the information and take down the Triads.
“Safe” received mixed reviews from critics, who praised Statham’s performance and the film’s action sequences, but criticized its predictable plot and lack of originality. However, it was a commercial success, grossing over $40 million worldwide.
