Savages (2012)

“Savages” is a crime thriller film released in 2012. The movie was directed by Oliver Stone and starred Taylor Kitsch, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and Blake Lively.

The film follows two best friends, Chon (Kitsch) and Ben (Taylor-Johnson), who are marijuana growers in California and are in a relationship with the same woman, Ophelia (Lively). Their idyllic life is disrupted when a Mexican drug cartel led by Elena (Salma Hayek) demands that they work with them, and they refuse.

In retaliation, Elena’s enforcer Lado (Benicio del Toro) kidnaps Ophelia, and Chon and Ben must work together with a corrupt DEA agent (John Travolta) to rescue her. However, as they navigate the dangerous world of drug trafficking and violence, they must also confront their own morality and the consequences of their actions.

“Savages” received mixed reviews from critics, who praised the performances of the cast, particularly Del Toro and Hayek, as well as the film’s stylish direction and intense action sequences. However, some criticized its excessive violence and convoluted plot. The film was a box office disappointment, grossing only $83 million worldwide against a budget of $45 million.
