Season of the Witch (2011)

“Season of the Witch” is a 2011 American historical fantasy film directed by Dominic Sena and starring Nicolas Cage, Ron Perlman, and Claire Foy. The film is set in medieval Europe during the time of the Black Death and follows two knights, Behmen (Nicolas Cage) and Felson (Ron Perlman), who are tasked with transporting a suspected witch (Claire Foy) to a remote abbey where she will stand trial for her alleged crimes.

As they journey across treacherous terrain, the group begins to experience a series of supernatural events and encounters with demonic forces, leading Behmen to question whether the accused witch is truly guilty or if there is something more sinister at work. The film features elements of horror, action, and fantasy, and explores themes of faith, redemption, and the power of superstition.

The film received negative reviews from critics, who criticized its derivative plot, wooden performances, and lack of scares. Despite this, the film was a modest box office success, grossing over $91 million worldwide against a production budget of $40 million.
