“Sightseers” is a dark comedy film released in 2012. The movie was directed by Ben Wheatley and starred Alice Lowe and Steve Oram.
The film follows a couple, Tina and Chris, who embark on a caravanning holiday across the English countryside. However, as they visit various tourist sites, they start to reveal their innermost desires and obsessions, and their relationship takes a twisted turn. They begin to murder anyone who offends them or stands in their way, leaving a trail of bodies across the picturesque landscape.
As they continue their journey, Tina and Chris’ relationship becomes increasingly strained, as they confront their differences and their violent tendencies. Eventually, their murderous rampage leads them to a bloody confrontation with the police, and they must face the consequences of their actions.
“Sightseers” was well received by critics for its dark humor, strong performances, and creative direction. It won several awards, including Best Screenplay at the British Independent Film Awards.
