Stake Land is a 2010 post–apocalyptic vampire drama film directed by Jim Mickle and starring Connor Paolo, Nick Damici, Kelly McGillis, and Danielle Harris. The plot follows a young man, Martin, as he is taken in by a vampire hunter named Mister, and together they traverse a post–apocalyptic landscape in search of a safe haven. Along the way they must face dangers posed not only by vampires, but also by religious fanatics, militia, and other survivors.
The film was praised by critics for its strong performances, atmosphere, and direction, and was nominated for several awards, including Best First Feature at the 2011 Spirit Awards. It has been compared to The Road and Zombieland due to its post–apocalyptic setting and horror elements.
