“The Batman” is an upcoming American superhero film based on the DC Comics character of the same name. The film is directed by Matt Reeves and stars Robert Pattinson as Batman/Bruce Wayne.
The story is set during Batman’s second year of crime-fighting and focuses on his investigation into a series of murders that are linked to Gotham City’s criminal underworld. Along the way, Batman crosses paths with several iconic villains, including The Riddler (played by Paul Dano), Catwoman (played by Zoë Kravitz), and The Penguin (played by Colin Farrell).
The film also stars Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner James Gordon, Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth, and John Turturro as crime boss Carmine Falcone.
“The Batman” has been described as a darker and grittier take on the character, and the filmmakers have indicated that they drew inspiration from the comics “Batman: Year One” and “The Long Halloween”. The film is currently scheduled to be released on March 4, 2022.
