The Debt is an American–British–German thriller film released in 2010. It was directed by John Madden and stars Helen Mirren, Tom Wilkinson, Ciarán Hinds and Sam Worthington. The film is an adaptation of the 2007 Israeli film Ha–Hov. It tells the story of three former Mossad agents who are sent to East Germany in the 1960s to capture a Nazi war criminal. The film received generally positive reviews from critics, with many praising the performances of Mirren, Wilkinson and Hinds. The film was also a moderate box office success, earning over $119 million on a budget of $20 million.
