The Whistleblower is a 2010 drama film directed by Larysa Kondracki and starring Rachel Weisz. The film tells the true story of Kathryn Bolkovac, a Nebraska police officer who served as a United Nations peacekeeper in post–war Bosnia and exposed the U.N.’s complicity in a sex trafficking scandal. It is based on Bolkovac‘s 2001 memoir, The Whistleblower: Sex Trafficking, Military Contractors, and One Woman‘s Fight for Justice. The film follows Bolkovac as she uncovers a human trafficking ring run by international peacekeepers, and her efforts to bring justice to those involved. It was nominated for seven Canadian Screen Awards, including Best Picture, and won four.
