Trump: If I Lose in the Election, I Won’t Run Again in 2028

Former U.S. President Donald Trump stated that if he is defeated in the upcoming presidential election in November, he does not expect to run again in the 2028 election.

The 78-year-old Trump has been the Republican Party's presidential candidate three times in a row, significantly reshaping the Republican Party over the past eight years.

In an interview with Sinclair Broadcast Group, Trump was asked whether he would run again if he lost to Democratic presidential candidate and Vice President Kamala Harris. He replied, "No, I don't think so. This will be the last time. I really don’t think so."

However, Trump added, "Hopefully, we will be very successful."

According to U.S. law, presidents cannot serve more than two terms, meaning Trump is not expected to run again in 2028 even if he wins this election.

In the past, Trump rarely talked about the possibility of losing an election, and he frequently promised victory to his supporters in speeches and social media posts.

However, this is the second time in four days that Trump has mentioned the possibility of losing.

On Thursday, at an event organized by the Israeli-American Council, Trump discussed the possibility of defeat and stated that this loss would partly be the fault of Jewish voters.

According to various reports in the media, Trump said, "Do they know what will happen if I don’t win this election? And if that happens, the Jewish people will bear a significant responsibility because 40% support means 60% are voting for the enemy."

Trump’s remarks were condemned by Harris’s campaign team and non-partisan American Jewish organizations.

While Harris's campaign has raised over $190 million since August, Trump’s campaign and its affiliates have collected $130 million in donations.

According to the latest national poll published by CBS, Harris leads Trump with 52%.

In key battleground states, however, the gap is narrowing, with Harris holding 51% support.

In a national poll conducted by NBC, Harris is ahead of Trump by five points.

However, as with other polls, the NBC survey shows Trump has a clear advantage with voters on the major issues of the election, such as the economy, immigration, and cost of living.
